The release said following a string of highly successful meetings in Newtown, Cayon, Sandy Point and Conaree the People’s Action Movement will be trodding into Halfway Tree on Monday October 29th at the Half Way Tree Community Centre at 7:00 p.m.
Political Leader, Shawn Richards, as well as former People’s Action Movement Leader, Lindsay Grant, along with other party officials and members of other NGO’s, community and interest groups, will address issues related to the much debated Land for Debt swap and Electricity issues.
“My constituency has been directly affected by this travesty land swap that Denzil Douglas has caused, orchestrated and dropped on the people of this country,” said Former PAM leader Attorney-at-Law Lindsay Grant.
“In recent regional studies it has been revealed that the villages in this constituency (const. #4) are among the poorest not only in St. Kitts-Nevis but also the Caribbean. It is this fact that makes this sale of hundreds of acres from this area even more of a travesty. Since the so-called elected representative will not represent then I will, as it should be.” The former Leader continued.
Monday night’s Town Hall meeting in Halfway Tree will be followed by another Town Hall meeting on Wednesday October 31st at the Wesley Methodist Church Hall (formerly the Old Boys School) in Central Basseterre at 7:00pm.
