Parry speaking on public radio Wednesday stated that he would advise Mrs Lawrence to resign not because she has done something wrong but because he feels she has been beaten up enough in the public.
Parry also added that if the electoral officials resign now it will complicate the situation further because no one will be stating that the situation will sort itself out in the coming days and weeks.
He also stated Brantley has called for an election to be called in 21 days and also has called for the resignation of the electoral officials and he cannot see that working out. In other words he believes that the opposition cannot call for a poll in 21 days and still ask the officials at the electoral office to be removed immediately.
On the question of the resignation of the Supervisor of Election, Leroy Benjamin, Parry said he had no view on whether he should remain in the position or resign.
Parry went on to say that he knows Mrs. Lawrence very well and described her as a woman of integrity and added that every action that was taken by her was done following advised from a lawyer and she would only do what she thinks is right. He dismissed the talks that she did it because of party bias.
