That afternoon, the St. Kitts Music Lovers Association presented the Concert in the Square, a free event. While some persons were seated for the concert, many persons stopped for a song or two before continuing their business for the day.
Some of the performers at the concert were Royd Phipps, Kharis Hodge, Michael Blake, Ashley Franks, Aliyah Bradshaw, Nigel and Aleks and the Music Lovers group itself. A special youth performance came from the George Moody Stuart School, with several renditions played on steelpans.
When asked what they thought of the music concert, some said, “It was relaxing; A good experience; Talented musicians; and, nice show”. Generally, there was positive reception to the 1½-hour music program. Performers played classical piano to contemporary and cultural pieces.
The show opened with remarks from Music Lovers Association President Elizabeth Condell, and the show was MCed by Samuel Stokes.
Several groups were instrumental in getting the concert implemented. These included the Parks & Beaches Commission, TDC, SKELEC, Public Works, Police, David Blake, ZIZ and Dominion Radio.
