A painted white cross, bearing the name of each victim, along with their picture was situated at the front of the concert’s stage and was seen as memorials for each person who suffered from acts of violence.
The presence of the crosses had a profound impact on family members who were in attendance. Many teary eyed mothers and other relatives placed flowers around the crosses of their loved ones, some sharing memories of the happier times they had together.

The crosses also featured one from the most recent murder victim, Dale ‘Hot Boy’ Wattley who was murdered on Thursday (31st May) in McKnight.
The Peace concert organized by Operation Rescue also included live performances from artistes such as Niche B, the Green House Band, King Astro, I-Soursop, Minister L.K and others.
The concert also featured inmates from Her Majesty’s Prison, who sang original tunes and recited poems, while also speaking about the wrongs they did, but vowing to change their lives from a path of crime.
Their stories touched many but perhaps their most emotional moment came when they burnt a red and a blue rag and called for the end to the “Bloods” and “Crips” gang war.
Constable Lauston Percival, President of Operation Future stated that what they tried to accomplish was successful, despite encountering some strong opposition.
