MiyVue.com understands that Betty Richards is currently warded at the Joseph N. France General Hospital receiving treatment for a broken left thigh.
The incident which led to this, according to the information released by the Traffic Department, took place at about 5:00 of that afternoon.
Motor vehicle PA8571 driven by Ydennick Collins of Ponds Extension, was travelling from west to east along the F. T. Williams Highway when Richards was attempting to cross from the southern side of the road to the northern when the collision occurred. The incident occurred in the vicinity of Jam’s Welding.
The Traffic Department further indicated that the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) was summoned to the scene and the 40-year-old woman was transported to the hospital for medical assistance.
MiyVue.com understands that in addition to sustaining injury to her left thigh, Richards also sustained injury to one of her hands, the extent of which however, is unknown.
The vehicle, reports suggest, sustained minimal damage with the driver sustaining no injuries.
Investigations are ongoing.
