Plans for Caribbean Talented Teen going well..11 countries confirmed

Byron-Nisbette who was recently appointed to the position of Chairman, said that although she has been a part of the Haynes Smith brand for 17 years, this being her first year as Chairman comes with new roles and responsibilities.

“This is my first year as the Chairperson of the Haynes Smith Miss Caribbean Talented Teen Pageant but I have been with the committee for close to 17 years. I have been working as the Contestant Coordinator for the last couple years so now it’s a new role, new post but I’m up to the challenge,” Byron Nisbett said.

She added that plans for this year’s pageant are running smoothly, and the committee is getting ready to welcome 11 of the most beautiful and talented teenagers from across the Caribbean.

“Well I’ll say this much, as you know over the years, Haynes Smith tends to do things different, so each year, we try to introduce a new element, something different to pageantry and this year, it’s definitely going to be a difference for our 35th anniversary. We just feel like it’s time to shake up pageantry a bit. And so, we’re going to do that this year,” the Chairman explained.

Immediate Past Chairman of the Committee, Antonio Maynard in a release from the committee said that the committee is proud to stage their 35th edition of the pageant.

“I think the commitment and loyalty of all members involved and most of them have been involved for many years, have contributed to the longevity of the pageant over the years. The franchise holders, too, have been very loyal,” Maynard said.

The Haynes Smith Talented Teen Pageant used a first come first serve criteria, in selecting this year’s 11 contestants. The selected participating countries submitted what was requested of them from the committee, based on the contracts signed to between the two parties.

The delegates that will vie for this year’s crown are: Miss Anguilla – Samelia Connor (17), Miss Antigua – Shannakisha Francis (17),  Miss Dominica – Niquelle Edwards  (17), Miss Grenada – Leshae Cenac – (17), Miss Guyana- Reesa  Sooklall – (15), Miss Montserrat – Sharese Edwards  (18), Miss St. Maarten – D’Shnay Matthew-York – (17), Miss SVG – Lateefa Noel (16), Miss USVI – Dyese Turnbull (16), Terian Reid – Barbados and St. Kitts – Robertine Webbe (14).
