Responding to a caller during his weekly radio programme on Tuesday, on the WikiLeaks matter of releasing confidential information, Prime Minister Douglas is of the view that hackers do not have the right to break into a country or a person’s private domain where information is stored and leaking it to the public. 

“I believe it is wrong. It is an act I believe which is considered to be illegal by several laws I’m sure established in countries and internationally. That does not mean that citizens do not have the right to information. I believe they do, but I believe that one should bring that information. One should obtain the information properly, legally, and then bring it to the peoples of the world if one wishes to do so,” responded Prime Minister Douglas. 

“In fact, where especially top security information has been stolen and leaked to the public including contesting nations around the globe, this is a serious breach in security, international security and a nation’s security and that therefore cannot be supported, not from me for sure, on this matter. So I definitely feel very strongly that thought it is a controversial area, I have my views and I’ve expressed them,” said the St. Kitts and Nevis leader.
