According to Government information, the visit will help to strengthen ties between St. Kitts and Nevis and the ROC. Prime Minister Harris will meet Minister of Foreign Affairs David Lin and other senior officials. “He is also scheduled to visit economic and cultural facilities such as Taipei 101, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and the National Museum of Marine Science and Technology in Keelung,” states the government release.
While in Taiwan, the St. Kitts and Nevis prime minister will visit the federation’s Mission, and meet with nationals currently studying in the Republic in order “to update them on current matters in the Federation and hear of their achievements while undertaking their academic pursuits”.
Taiwan continues to be a strong supporter of the federation’s developmental initiatives. In 1983, the two countries established diplomatic relations.
