Police Attacked by Robber

 

According to a report from the Police Public Relations Officer, Vaughn Henderson, on Friday 29th October 2010 at approximately 12:37 a.m police officers from the Anti-Gang Unit who were on routine patrol, officers from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Special Services Unit (SSU) and officers from Basseterre Beat and Patrol Unit responded to a report of robbery in the Camps Estate area.

Police investigations revealed that Inspector Richardson and daughter Kerlyn Williams who travelled to their Camps Estate residence in their car were attacked.

The report stated that Richardson was attacked with a wooded plank by an unknown assailant. Inspector Richardson suffered injuries to her head while she and her daughter were robbed of a number of items.

The female police officer was taken to the JNF General Hospital where she was treated for her injuries and discharged.

The scene was processed by officers from the Crime Scene Department and a number of the stolen items have since been recovered by the detectives. There are no suspect(s) in custody as yet for this matter but investigations are ongoing.

However, the police are making a general appeal to persons who may have information regarding this crime to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 465-2241 Ext-220, 231,236 or 466-8361.
