As their exercise continues to reduce the level of crime and violence, a series of joint operations, involving all law enforcement agencies will commence today, Friday 8th June, 2012, and will last for at least one week, said a statement today by police
However they have cautioned residents in St. Kitts and Nevis that this time period may be extended, should it be deemed necessary to do so in the interest of the safety and security of the Federation.
The past two weekends have resulted in the murder one young man on Shaw Avenue and the wounding by shooting of three men in the Haynes Smith Village area.
This has again given cause to the police to warn the public that they will continue to implement a zero tolerance initiative, in their drive to rid the country of all crimes and acts of violence.
According to a police spokesman, “Though our initiatives may appear dis-comforting to many, the continued support of the general public is solicited, as we continue to execute our strategic measures in the interest of the greater good of the Federation.”
