According to a police statement, they are currently seeking answers regarding the death of 40 year old Celsa Patricia Jones of Camps Road, in Newcastle, whose body was found hanging by the neck from a ceiling rafter attached to a canvas rope.
It is said that the police were alerted to the scene, at approximately 4:45pm, and upon arrival, discovered the lifeless body of Ms. Jones.
The District Medical Officer was called to the scene around 7:30 pm and pronounced Jones dead and indicated that there were no visible signs of foul play; however an autopsy will be performed at a later date to determine the cause of death. Jones’s body was taken to a funeral home under police escort after permission was granted by the Coroner.
A number of items of evidential value were taken for further analysis, after the scene was processed by detectives from the CID.
