Dead is 45-year-old Delon James of McKnight but who resided at Mattingley Heights.
Information which was given to MiyVue.com by Assistant Commissioner of Police with responsibility for Crime (ACP Crime) Ian Queeley, indicates that sometime this morning, while a friend was at his home, James uttered something to that friend before collapsing.
The ACP explained that the friend summoned for an Emergency Medical Services unit and when it arrived, the emergency medical technicians made attempts to revive James but they were all futile.
Queeley also indicated that the District Medical Officer (DMO) for that area, Dr. Mervin Laws, was called to the scene and James was pronounced dead there. He said the coroner was informed of the incident and permission was granted for James’ remains to be removed and transported to the mortuary.
MiyVue.com understands that James was employed at the Public Works Department (PWD) as the Chief Engineer and sometime in late 2009, he was placed on suspension and up until his death was still on suspension.
He, according to reports, was actively involved in sports during his early years, particularly basketball and football.
ACP Queeley told this publication that an autopsy will be performed on James’ remains soonest to determine the cause of his death. Investigations are ongoing.
