Police investigates possible arson case in St. Paul’s

According to police information released Tuesday afternoon, the St. Paul’s Police Station is leading the investigation into the incident.

On Saturday afternoon, neighbours of Fiona Smithen and Glenroy Gumbs noticed fire coming from their house and moved into action to extinguish the blaze, before the arrival of Fire and Rescue Services from Sandy Point. Several household items were damage in the fire.

In other police news, Abiola Abisola and passenger Trecia Williams of Craddock Road, Nevis, were both transported to the Joseph N France General Hospital by EMS as a result of the injuries they sustained in a car accident.

Police information states that the “motor car PA5568 driven by Abiola Abisola of Cades Bay, Nevis, was travelling from the Marriott parking lot to the Frigate Bay Beach, and when she was about to turn onto the Zenway Blvd, she lost control of the vehicle and ran into the Marriott Hotel wall”. 

Meanwhile, an autopsy performed on the late Everette Henry Baptiste confirmed death from multiple gunshot wounds. Forensic Pathologist Dr. Valery Battice carried out the autopsy.

The 25-year-old Baptiste of Keys Village was attacked and shot by an armed assailant on June 16 in Shanty Town, Cayon.
