It was a shooting that left another individual, 20-year-old Jason Morton, dead at the scene.
According to accounts, the shooting took place at about 12:15 p.m., September 17, in Hermitage Village, Cayon. Police have corroborated reports coming out of the community that 17-year-old Pringle was shot as he entered the gate of Morton’s residence.
Police has confirmed that Pringle was shot in the shoulder and ran toward the basketball court. He was taken to the Cayon Police Station from where he was transported by ambulance to the JNF General Hospital. A police report indicates that Pringle is in stable condition.
A press release issued by the Police states, “Initial investigations revealed that the assailant(s) left Upper Cayon and journeyed to Hermitage Village to the home of the deceased. While proceeding through the gate of the premises of the deceased, an armed masked man, dressed in black clothing, appeared from inside the deceased’s yard and fired a number of gunshots at the victims.”
The released continued, “The deceased, who was slightly in front of Pringle, as they both entered the gate, was shot in the head, and he succumbed to his injures at the scene.”
No suspect has been identified as yet in this crime, as investigations continue into this latest shooting in the federation.
