The incident occurred on 14th November, 2010 while a tour bus was travelling along the stretch of road which leads to Brimstone Hill. The driver of the vehicle reportedly observed a blockade and when he stopped the vehicle to disembark and investigate, two masked armed individuals launched their attack on the tourists aboard the vehicle.
Seven individuals have since been arrested and charged with as many as 17 offences and the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force has indicated that it is in search of Sandy Pointer, Curtis Long.
“Officers in the District “B” area have in their possession seventeen (17) warrants in the first instance for the arrest of Long. Long has been accused of being involved in the November 14th 2010 armed robbery of a number of persons a board a tour bus at Sandy Point. The police are therefore seeking the assistance of the general public in the locating and capturing the (wanted man).”
Long, according to a police press release, “is considered armed and dangerous (and) persons with information are asked to contact the nearest police station.”
George ‘Naddy’ Welsh of Sandy Point, Delvin ‘Sobie’ Francis of St. Pauls, Junior ‘Q’ Sabratie, Devon ‘X-Man’ Hodge, Grenville ‘Rogie’ Rogers, Administon ‘LB’ Lewis and Elroy ‘Stanny’ Williams were previously arrested and charged with armed robbery in connection with this incident.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
