Bookeem Martin of Taylors was found guilty at the Basseterre Magistrates’ Court for Larceny and receiving on 2nd July, he was sentenced to six months in prison with hard labour, and ordered to pay Compensation of the sum of $500, which should be paid in one month or six month imprisonment.
Jason Pemberton of Lower Monkey Hill was convicted at the Basseterre Magistrates’ Court on 2 July 2012 for Battery which was committed on 28th June 2012. He was placed on bond in sum of $2000 to keep the peace and be on good behaviour for 18 months and to complete 100 hours community service; to be completed by 31st August 2012. He was also ordered to not interfere with the victim.
Lewellyn Webbe of Cayon, was convicted on 2nd July at the Basseterre Magistrates’ Court for Battery which was committed at Potential Bar on 11th November 2011. He was fined $800 to be paid in two months or 1 month’s imprisonment.
A male and female were arrested and charged on 2nd July 2012 for rape which was committed on 21st June 2012. The female arrested was also charged with Indecent assault which was committed on 22nd June 2012.
Nevis Division of Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force conducted Operation Pullover on 2nd July 2012 during which 117 vehicles were stopped for various traffic violations. Six tickets were issued and several persons were warned and alerted of offences. Offences for which tickets were issued were: one for permitting a student to drive when he does not own Instructor’s permit, one for not wearing a seatbelt, three for driving without a valid driver’s licence and one for driving an unlicensed vehicle.
