Police seeking public’s assistance in shooting incident

Basseterre, Monday, 15th November, 2021, (MyVue News.com)-Police in St. Kitts are seeking the assistance of the public for any information they can provide, to help piece together, the circumstances that led to the shooting of an Bird Rock resident over the weekend.

They explain that the incident occurred sometime around 1:00 am on Saturday, 13th November, 2021.

Shot and injured in the incident was 43 year old Kenrick Simmonds.

Police explained that Simmonds was at the time leaving a bar in Buckley’s when a lone gunman fired several shots at him.

He received a gunshot wound to his arm, which also entered his chest. He was transported to the JNF General Hospital where he is currently warded in a stable condition.

Simmonds is the son of St. Kitts & Nevis’ first Prime Minister and now National Hero, Dr. Sir Kennedy Simmonds.

Persons with information regarding this matter are urged to contact the Violent Crime Unit by dialing 467-1887, 467-1888, 662-3468, their nearest Police Station, or the Crime Hotline at 707 where information can be given anonymously.

Personnel from the Forensic Department processed the scene and collected items of evidential value, but need the assistance of the public.
