Basseterre, Tuesday, 21st September, 2021, (MyVue News.com)-The 38th Anniversary celebrations for the independence of St. Kitts & Nevis wrapped up on Monday, 20th September, with a public holiday.

The actual independence date, however, was Sunday, 19th September, which was marked by official speeches, including from the country’s Prime Minister, Dr. Timothy Harris, an official Church Service, and the receipt of many messages of goodwill from friendly countries, within the Caribbean and worldwide.

One of the notable messages was sent by His Holiness Pope Francis, (Jorge Mario Bergoglio), Head of the Catholic Church and Sovereign of the Vatican City State.

Pope Francis, offered “…prayers that the people of the Federation will ever dwell in prosperity and peace…”

“I invoke upon the Nation the abundant blessings of Almighty God,” His Holiness continued.

The congratulatory message was dispatched to Governor-General, Sir Tapley Seaton, with the Pope saying, “I send cordial greetings to Your Excellency and your fellow citizens on the occasion of the National Day of Saint Kitts and Nevis.”

The Apostolic Nunciature (Holy See – Vatican Embassy) said it avails itself of the opportunity to renew to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Aviation of Saint Kitts and Nevis the assurances of its highest consideration.
