In an exciting match played at the LIME Playing Field on Sunday night, (3rd April), the Windsor Lions were squeezed out of the tournament after being restricted to 172 for 6, at the end of their allotted 20 overs.
Top scorers for Windsor Lions were Wasi Khan with 54, in 70 minutes, from 51 balls, reaching the boundary with 2 fours and 4 sixes. He was ably supported by Khalid Quadree who made 34 runs.
Outstanding bowling performances for Port Zante came from Rahul Moolchandani with 3 for 28 off 4 overs and Pranav Khatric with 2 for 23 from 4 overs.
When Port Zante made its way to the center for their reply, they managed to reach 175 for 9 wickets, from 19.2 overs, with top scores coming from Kailash Rawal with 37, Rahul Moolchandani with 28 and Kishore Kalla with 27.
The bowling for Windsor was led by Jibril Hamud with 2 wickets for 32 runs from 4 overs and Rishi Srivastav with 2 wickets for only 3 runs from 2 overs.
Port Zante Indians will have to face the winners from the next semi finals which will play on Wednesday evening at 7:00PM sharp. The teams are Mountain Movers and Guyanese Young Guns, GYG.
The GYG is undefeated at this stage and the Mountain Movers will try to move them out of the competition.
The Finals is slated for Sunday April 10, 2011, at 4:00 PM at the LIME Grounds.
