According to the West Indies Cricket Board, in a recent release, the Four Day Regional Match between Guyana and CCC has had to be shifted to St. Kitts due to unfortunate developments that have emerged in Guyana between the government and the local cricket authorities there.
The two teams will therefore meet in St. Kitts from Thursday 16th to Sunday 19th February.
In addition, said the WICB, St. Kitts has been given four matches, in the 2012 series between the West Indies and India Females, who are now scheduled to play three One Day International games and a T20 match. The games will be played on 27 & 29 February, and March 2nd and 4th, also at Warner Park.
The SKCA has therefore established an Organizing Committee, (OC), headed by Mr. Val Henry, to coordinate all activities related to the hosting of these matches. The OC had its first meeting on Saturday 4th February, at Warner Park, to examine matters related to cricket operations, security, marketing, media and other important planning subjects.
Work has also picked up on the preparations of the pitch and field at Warner Park, with the ground staff there already increasing its activities. Similar work has started on the practice facilities at the nearby Len Harris Cricket Academy.
