Prickley Pear Alley Man Shot

The man, who has been identified as Shirvin David is believed to have been shot at least five times to various parts of the body. Police public relations officials have however confirmed that he was shot multiple times in the leg.

He was rushed to the Joseph N France General Hospital where he is now recovering, but remains in a serious and stable condition.

David is known to be a resident of upper Prickley Pear Alley, where the incident also took place.

When the shooting occurred, David was with a group of other young men, all of whom had to run for cover from the hail of bullets that came from the gun men in a passing vehicle that police are now in search of as part of their investigations.

Police PRO, Sgt. Stephen Hector explained that preliminary investigations reveal that Shirvin David was among friends at Prickly Pear Alley when a vehicle stopped at the Junction of Prickly Pear Alley and Central Street and two persons alighted from the vehicle and began to discharge their firearms.

 

Shirvin David sustained gunshot wounds to his legs and on arrival at the JNF Hospital underwent emergency surgery, said Hector.

 

The PRO said the Crime scene was processed by crime scene technicians. However Inspector, Smithen Head of the Criminal Investigation Department, is appealing to the General Public for their support at this time.  The Public is invited to call 4652241 ext 220 or 662-2145 to convey any information which you may have.

David is said to be between 19-21 years old.
