Prime Minister Douglas Pays Tribute to Masud Sadiki

Dr. Douglas was speaking on the radio programme, Ask the Prime Minister, via telephone, as he is currently in Barbados, where he is attending the summit between leaders from Caricom and Mexico.

He praised Masud as a great talent, stating that his gift and versatility resulted in him working in nations and cultures who were trying to make the world a better place.

“Masud’s talent was enormous and his personal standards exemplary with lyrics that flowed from his heart and soul; and these were no ordinary lyrics said the Prime Minister.

Douglas said the country quickly realised that he was an elevated and elevating spirit that encouraged human beings to reach for the best.

He added that it was with shock and sadness that he and his Cabinet colleagues learnt of his death which he said will weigh heavily on the hearts and homes of citizens of the federation and the wider Caribbean.dougie

“On behalf of my Cabinet and the entire nation I do extend my deepest sympathies to his dear wife Charmaine, to his children and to his dear mother and his family and all those who loved him so dearly as friends and great fans.”

Dr. Douglas then proceeded to devote the rest of the programme to Masud Sadiki with the host allowing callers make their own tributes while the music of the late artiste was featured in the background.

Masud Sadiki was found dead Monday evening, 21st may, 2012, in his home village of Verchilds.
