“The St. Kitts-Nevis (Under 23) Football Team has filled us all with indescribable pride. We watched in recent days as they went from strength to strength. Always giving of their very best. Filling the Warner Park Football Stadium with a degree of excitement that defied description. Congratulations to our champions! You have done yourselves proud,” said Prime Minister Douglas
“It proves that, that is not the complete story of our precious country. The phenomenal performance of our Under-23 Football Team proves that as well. Young people do not just show up at a sporting event and win. Winning results from sacrifice. Winning comes from discipline. Winning comes from hard work and determination. From all the characteristics that make individuals, families, communities, and nations great!” explained the Prime Minister
“So we commend these people, we applaud these young people, and we urge all of our nation’s young people to find something at which they can excel – sports, academia, sales, IT, farming, catering, science, the arts, helping others. (and) in whatever they choose, in whatever they love, the must strive to be champions.” Dr. Douglas expressed
The two Under 23 National Teams were triumphant in the netball and football tournaments which were held in St Kitts-Nevis.
