Prisoner on the Run Captured

It would appear that the most reason escapee, Alistair Isaac, found that to be the hard truth.

It was on Thursday night, 5th September, 2012, that members of the S.S.U, assisted by Basseterre Beat and Patrol Officers, launched an intense operation to apprehend the prisoner, who escaped while in the custody of H M Prison Officers, on 16 August 2012.

However the search ended last night, after Isaac was spotted in the St. Johnston’s Village and New Town areas. Eventually the search moved to downtown Basseterre, in the heart of the capital, when Isaac was observed in the area of West Independence Square Street and was quickly surrounded by officers, who through a search incidental to arrest recovered a fire arm and ammunition on his person.

It is said that Isaac had already altered his appearance by cutting his hair with the intention of having some form of disguise, so that he may not be recognized by members of the public or the authorities. The bandit was rather reckless though, hiding not into the hills or some remote area of the island, but making his way to Independence Square Street, which is a stone’s throw away from the same prison from which he escaped and also the site of the main police headquarters.
