According to a statement from the Cabinet Secretariat in the Office of the Prime Minister, Monday 26^th December, Tuesday 27^th December, Monday 2^nd January 2012 and Tuesday 3^rd January 2012, will be public holidays.

With Christmas Day and New Year’s Day falling on a Sunday, the following day will be observed as a holiday, said the statement.

This means that Carnival Day and the usual street parade of troupes and bands will be observed on Monday 2^nd January.

The much anticipated j’ouvert jam will be held on Monday 26^th December
