Rain Disrupts Guyana vs T&T Twenty/20 Clash

The adverse weather limited the first game between T&T ‘A’ and the Academy XI to 17 balls and the resulting waterlogged outfield at Guaracara Park erased any chance of the feature match between T&T and Guyana being played.

T&T ‘A’ finished the tournament unbeaten and on seven points, to emerge as champions with Guyana and T&T on four points, and the Academy on one point.

The tournament had been designed to provide last-minute match preparation for both T&T and Guyana who are contesting the January 10-23 CT20 in Antigua and Barbados.

T&T ‘A’ won the toss and decided to take first strike but several downpours delayed the start and umpires finally decided to reduce the game to a 11 overs per side.

Evin Lewis was quickly removed without scoring and Justin Guillen managed just one as the second string T&T side stumbled to 18 for two in the third over.

Within minutes of the players walking off the pitch, heavy rain saturated the venue, forcing the second match to be abandoned.
