Basseterre St. Kitts 2010 – The Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) branch located in the Horsfords building Shopping Complex at Wellington Road re-opened for their doors for business on Thursday, July 8th for the first time since the attempted robbery by gunmen on July 1st.
It was reported the masked gunmen had entered the building shortly after the bank opened it’s doors to the public and held staff at gunpoint demanding money. MiyVue investigations revealed that no one was hurt or injured but that some of the persons present were left traumatized.
According to the reports on the incident, the robbers were not successful in robbing the bank but took money from the customers standing in line. By the time the police had arrived the robbers had fled the scene on foot through a path connecting the Complex to a neighboring residential area.
The police are continuing their investigations and would like anyone with any information concerning the attempted robbery to come forward.
