The issue was raised at a meeting in Barbados on Tuesday 25th January, organized by the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) and the International Labour Organisation (ILO).
BBC Caribbean reported that the deliberations focused on the effects of the global crisis on labour markets in the Caribbean.
The Caribbean Employers’ Federation pointed to the CSME’s impact on the regional labour market in a still-contracting global policy.
At least two speakers spoke out against the delay in implementing the main aspects of CSME, which include free movement of people and job opportunities of Caribbean nationals in the various territories and states.
