Voters should ensure they are registered

An official has indicated that lists were posted at two conspicuous places in each Polling Division from Tuesday, 31st January, 2012 in accordance with the provisions of Section 43 (1) of the National Assembly Elections Act (Cap. 2.01).

The Official continued, “Any person who claims to be entitled to be registered as a voter and whose name, address and occupation have changed or are entered in an incorrect manner, may claim to be registered correctly by a Notice of Claim (Form No. 7). This must be submitted to the Registration Officer at the Electoral Office, no later than Friday, 10th February, 2012.”

The official also stated that any individual whose name appears on the list for an Electoral District may object to the registration of any person whose name is included in the said register.

Persons who wish to make objections to names appearing on the Register should complete a Notice of Objection and submit it to the Registration Officer by the deadline date previously mentioned.

Claim and Notice of Objection Forms may be obtained at the Electoral Office in Basseterre and Charlestown.
