Revellers and onlookers fill Basseterre

Hordes of people, including visitors from the four cruise ships in harbour, joined in a massive display of dancing, looking on, drinking and eating.

In past years following the jouvert jam, the town would become scarce with people. But it can be said that like never before in history did the crowds patronize the bars and various stalls set up along Fort Street, Central Street, West Independence Square Street, and the Bay Road stretching from the General Post Office to the Ferry Terminal, long after the jamming ended

Grand Masters, ‘Magic Fingers’ Ronnie Rascal, Small Axe Band, Nu Vybes International, Kollision Band and Tombstone provided music for revellers – costumed and non-costumed.

The Traditional WetDown Session display on Bank Street also drew the largest number of participants and onlookers.
