In between recording and performing hit after hit, with seven albums in as many years, and embarking on four major world tours (“Good Girl Gone Bad,” “Last Girl On Earth,” “Loud” and her current “Diamonds”), the six-time Grammy award-winner has been involved in numerous promotional projects and has recently broken into the fashion industry with her new line for River Island.
So it’s hardly surprising that the “Talk That Talk” star should walk that walk towards a well-deserved year-long break from music after her latest tour wraps this summer, with sources saying the 25-year-old entertainer needs “to unwind”.
The “We Found Love” singer kicked off her latest world tour last Friday in Buffalo, New York, to an enthusiastic reception from a sold-out audience of adoring fans.
But that was only the first step in a demanding schedule that will see the “Stay” star deliver her inimitable goods in 33 shows in North America before moving on to the European leg of the tour in late May, which will take the hard-working pop diva to Spain, Portugal, France, Switzerland, Turkey, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, Norway and Britain.
But, according to American Idol host Ryan Seacrest, fans will be seeing less of the “Unapologetic” girl after her final show of the tour on July 28 in Finland.
“She’s been in this ‘go’ mode for a while. Seven hit records in seven years,” Seacrest said on his radio show on KIIS FM. “Sold out tours, but sources say after this tour wraps, she plans to take up to a year off to unwind.”
There’s been much speculation that Rihanna will use the break to spend more time with Chris Brown, with whom she recently reconciled. Their relationship already appears to picking up momentum, with sources claiming the 23-year-old American R&B singer wants to spend the rest of his life with the “You Da One” star.
“He got hella love, talent and family support and he got the woman he wants to be with for life and that’s her [Rihanna] so that would be just perfect,” a source close to Brown told HollywoodLife.
