A Police release has confirmed that at approximately 10:30pm on Saturday, officers at the Sandy Point Police Station and the St Paul’s Police Station responded immediately and their enquiries revealed that Alexander Warner, Proprietor of Bigz Bar, was attacked by two (2) masked assailants.

The Police said that the suspects were armed with a gun each, and proceeded to rob Mr. Warner of a small sum of money.

No physical injuries were sustained and there are no suspects in custody at this time but Police are pursuing a number of leads. Investigations are ongoing.

It was only a few hours before, also on Saturday that police had to respond to a shooting incident in the other Kittitian town of Cayon, when the driver of a delivery truck from the Carib Brewery, was attacked and shot in the arm.

According to a communiqué which was issued by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force’s Press and Public Relations Office, the incident occurred at about 1:15 Saturday afternoon.

“…Police received a report of a shooting at Whites, Upper Cayon. Police officers from the Cayon Police Station, Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Special Services Unit (SSU) and the Anti-Gang Unit responded to the call immediately.”

The release further explained that upon arrival at the scene and upon conducting investigations, the officers discovered that a 45-year-old was shot after two gunmen launched an attack.

“Upon arrival their investigations revealed that 45-year-old Brian Maynard of Buckley’s, was driving a truck in Whites Upper, Cayon and doing drinks delivery sales, when he was attacked by 2 masked assailants armed with a gun each and was shot in his left shoulder by one.”

MiyVue understands that Maynard was taken to the Mary Charles Hospital in private transportation and then to the Joseph N. France General Hospital for treatment and where he is said to be “warded in stable condition”.
