As an incentive to raise funds to help their charity work in St. Kitts for 2012, the Rotary Club of Liamuiga will be hosting its 5th Annual New Year’s Ball featuring Singing Francine out of Trinidad and Tobago.
Calvin Esdaille a representative from the club said, “The event starts at 11:00pm on 31st December and will be an all inclusive Ball that will have available, top shelf liquor, tasters and a breakfast from 4:00- 6:00 am.”
Esdaille continued, “We are bringing Singing Francine who has not been to St. Kitts for many years. Francine will perform at about 2:00am and will be on stage for 45 minutes. She will be coming directly from her performances in the tents in Trinidad and will be bringing new material.”
Esdaille also announced that the 4 Play Band will be the house band for the evening and patrons can attend expecting an evening of food and entertainment from 11:00pm to 6:00pm
The Rotary representative continued by saying, “This is an annual event for the Rotary Club of Liamuiga to raise funds to do its charity work. It’s our biggest fundraiser and all the profits will be donated to helping the underprivileged.
The event will take place at the ballroom of the Marriott Resort, in Frigate. Tickets will available from members of the Rotary Club of Liamuiga and from Warner’s One Stop at Bird Rock.
The Rotarians have been known for providing humanitarian service and building goodwill and peace here in St. Kitts and Nevis and worldwide. Rotary believes that if one is to change the world, to make it a better place, it must start with a commitment to Service Above Self.
The club operates here in St. Kitts working within the communities to support the elderly, the sick, the poor, the youth and the infrastructural requirements of villages and towns.
It was only last week that members were engaged in a program that saw them making much needed food hamper donations to selected members of the community.
The club is presently headed by Mr. Peter Jenkins as President.
