On Thursday, 1st December, 2011, The RAMS Village Superstars Football Club held its AGM at the NEMA Conference Room, at Buckley’s. At this sitting, a new Executive was elected to serve the club and community.
Mr. Sam DaCosta was elected as the club’s new President, after a decisive defeat of Mr. Franklyn Maitland, who was seeking re-election having served in this capacity from 2004 – 2009. Mr. DaCosta secured a total of 37 votes from 46 ballots; while Mr. Maitland was only able to secure 9 votes.
In a more competitive race for Vice President, Mr. Dexter Tyrell, the incumbent, was re-elected by 2 votes over Mr. Keithly Pemberton. Results saw Mr. Tyrell securing 24 votes versus 22 votes for his challenger.
Mr. Glen Rogers was elected as the club’s Treasurer uncontested. Also uncontested were Ms. Neresia Hobson, Secretary and Mr. Lester Ible, P.R.O. Three other persons were elected to serve on the Executive as members, namely, Dwight Kelly, Shane Berry and Keithly Pemberton.
The newly elected executive has expressed heartfelt gratitude to its members for showing confidence in allowing them to serve the VSFC and the community, for the next two years. The new executive has also invited Villagers and fans to become members, embrace its’ new leaders and get involved to make it the best community team in the Federation.
The past Executive was headed by Troy “Spuddy” Hendrickson, who did not seek re-election for president; Atisha Byron as Secretary; Leslie Richardson as Treasurer; Konris Maynard as Public Relations Officer; Leslie Morton and Kervin Freeman, as Members.
