Also in attendance will be Her Excellency Jacinth Henry-Martin, the Federation’s Ambassador to the United States, and the Honourable Shawn Richards, Parliamentary Representative for the Electoral District of St. Christopher #5 – Sandy Point & Fig Tree.
The 2012 SPBS Benefit Gala will feature as its Special Guest Speaker, H. E. Dr. Simon B. Jones-Hendrickson, Professor of Economics, Writer, and former Saint Kitts-Nevis Ambassador to the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States, CARICOM and the Association of Eastern Caribbean States, one of the three nationals of the Federation to be honoured on this auspicious occasion. Dr. Jones-Hendrickson will receive the SPBS Distinguished Community Service Award.
Also sharing the spotlight as Banquet honourees will be Dr. Joseph Halliday, Past Principal of the Sandy Point High School, and Dr. Hannah Guishard, Veterinarian, Distinguished Alumnae of the Sandy Point High School.
Once again, the Annual SPBS Awards Banquet will be the place to be on Labour Day Weekend in New York City. It will be a reunion of sorts with lots of Caribbean and American food & drinks, entertainment, fun, friends, teachers, classmates, celebration and laughter.
This 2nd Annual event is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. at the famous Maestro Banquet Hall (located at 1703 Bronxdale Avenue, Bronx, New York 10462.). It promises to be “an evening of celebrating excellence, connecting and reconnecting.”
The entertainment will be headlined by the famous “Breakaway Brass Band” out of New York City. They will provide music for dancing until 2:00 a.m. So, you will have an extra hour to dance the night away. At midnight we will hold the drawing for our 4th Annual 7-Day Cruise Raffle. So, get your tickets now from any member of the group. Patrons can win valuable prizes along with the grand-prize of the 7-day Carnival Cruise. SPBS continues to make a significant difference to the schools in Sandy Point and its environs. For the past fifteen (15) years the organization has partnered with major US corporations such as Procter & Gamble, American Airlines and KFC to contribute to the schools in the area, financial awards to students, books, science laboratory equipment, a Xerox colour copy machine/printer/fax machine, computer systems and printers, laptops, overhead projectors and more. |
