The Police at the Sandy Point Police Station are presently investigating a traffic accident which occurred along the By Pass Road leading to Fig Tree, Sandy Point at about 12:30 PM on Saturday 9th February 2013.
The accident involved motor cycle P-4331 owned and riden by Lesford Ryan alias ‘wifey’ (30) yrs of Bourkes Project Sandy Point.
Investigation revealed that Mr. Ryan was riding his motor bike from Fig Tree going to the Island Main Road or from (south to north) and while riding he lost control of the bike, which caused him to ran into a drain on the eastern side of the road and then he collided to an electrical pole on the same side of the road, causing it to be broken.
Ryan was pronounced dead at the scene by the district medical doctor Norgen Wilson.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. Investigation is ongoing.
This is the 1st road fatality in St. Kitts for 2013.
