Section of Independence Square a no go to the public

Justice Merlene Carter is expected to deliver judgment on whether an injunction against the constituency boundaries report will stand. Both the opposition and the government have vested interest in the electoral boundaries. The opposition wants the injunction upheld, and the government wants it dismissed. Boundary changes are critical in the upcoming elections potentially impacting the final results.

A few persons wearing the colours of the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party could be seen west of the affected area. At the moment, there is no police presence.

Meanwhile, MiyVue.com has learned that police has denied Team Unity permission to hold a public meeting in Basseterre tonight.

That meeting would now be held in Conaree at 8 p.m., with Small Axe releasing the ‘Unity Riddim’.
