Shakki- Ready to Take on the World

According to her management team, Shakki is currently busy in the studios working on what would be her second solo production, to be titled, “Riders Only”.

If plans progress as hoped, the new recording will hit the airwaves and music stores by mid-November, just in time for the start of National Carnival 2010/11 in St. Kitts.

However fans may not have to wait that long to hear from the diva, as the first single from the album will be released during the first half of October. The album is expected to feature at least 6 tracks with production by a number of local and regional producers.

Shakki says that she is approaching the production and eventual release of the upcoming album with a great deal of excitement as it would be her first solo release since 2004’s Sterling album. Shakki has been featured on a number of albums since, as the front-lady for bands including the Ultra-Sonics, Grand Masters and most recently d’Vybz.

The former Road March winner of Nevis and one time Soca Monarch for St. Kitts has been involved in the music industry now for quite some time and she is putting every bit of the experience she has gained over the years into this album.

“I intend to use not only local producers, but I intend to work with some of the region’s top producers, some of whom have consistently shown an interest in working with me over the years. I am putting a lot of effort into this album and that is why I am anxious and excited because soca lovers will definitely love this recording,” continued Shakki.
