Shaquille Greene is Federation’s 15th Murder Victim

The deceased in 18-year-old Shaquille Greene and the incident occurred shortly before 9:00 p.m. in the vicinity of the Craft House, Bay Road.

Information reaching MiyVue.com suggests that Greene was shot by an individual who was travelling in a vehicle along that stretch of road.

This media house had received an unconfirmed report suggesting that Greene was shot in the back of the head, however a police press release revealed that he sustained a gunshot wound to the “upper part of his chest”. He was pronounced dead by the District Medical Officer (DMO) Dr. Mervin Laws and the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Patrick Martin.

Greene’s remains were removed from the scene by Jenkins Funeral Home under the escort of police officers.

A post mortem is expected to be performed shortly to determine the cause of Greene’s death.

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force has informed that there are no suspects in custody and that investigations are ongoing.

The crime-fighting institution is appealing with members of the public who might be in possession of information which can assist with solving this case. These persons are asked to contact the Basseterre Police Station at 465-2241 and speak to an officer of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) extensions 230 or 220. Persons are advised that conditions of anonymity and confidentiality are applicable.

In the alternative however, an individual with information can opt to speak personally with an officer whom he or she feels most comfortable speaking with and that officer would pass on the information to the relevant individuals.

Greene’s is the federation’s 15th murder to have taken place in the Federation for 2011, two in Nevis and 13 in St. Kitts.

He, according to information reaching MiyVue.com, is the nephew of slain businessman “L Greene” who – along with his wife – was murdered on 19th December, 2005.
