Two half centuries by Mithali Raj and Amita Sharma have placed India in a somewhat fair position, as they seek to take a lead in the One Day International series.
After winning the toss, the West Indies asked the Indians to bat first, with the visitors getting off to a great start, when in the 3rd over Sulakshana Naik fell for 2.
India continued to lose wickets on a regular basis, eventually tumbling to 75-5, when Mitali Raj was joined at the crease by Amita Sharma, and looked to rebuild the Indian innings. A 74 run partnership between Raj and Sharma ended when Raj went for 56 to the bowling of Mohamed following a remarkable catch by King.
As the end of the innings drew near and wickets continued to fall Sharma continued to show her resistance and tried to push the Indians to a respectable total.
At the end however, Sharma remained 51 not out, in the Indian total of 179-7.
