According to reports, a shooting incident occurred on West Independence Street at about 8:35 pm, which brought the Last Lap session to a premature end.

Reports revealed that a young man – who has been identified as Audington Cyder – was shot during the ‘jam session’ in the Nu Vybez band. Thanks to a strong presence of the security forces, the situation was quickly brought under control and the bands were asked to cease their jam sessions.

However, reports indicate that the young man is presently recovering at the JNF General Hospital.

Leading up to press time, MiyVue.com made several attempts to contact Public Relations Officer to the police force, Inspector Vaughan Henderson and Assistant Commissioner of Police with responsibility for Crime, Superintendent Ian Queeley, and all attempts were futile.
