The phone, an improved version of the S3, is being positioned as “a next generation handset designed to bring people together and enrich everyday life”.
“It’s not just a smartphone, but a life companion,” declared Kabeche, vice-president of sales and marketing for the IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung Electronics Latin America, Miami office.
“It’s a lot more to see with a lot less to hold,” Kabeche added, making reference to the size of the S4 relative to that of its predecessor.
Among the new features is what Samsung describes as the “world’s first HD Super AMOLED (Active-Matrix Organic Light-Emitting Diode)” display. This is in addition to its 13 megapixel rear camera that facilitate ‘dual shot’, ‘Drama Shot’ and ‘Sound and Shot’.
Another standout is the new ‘S Health’ software that gives up-to-date health and well-being information.
The S4 will go on sale globally this Saturday.
