Basseterre, Monday,19th July, 2021 (MyVue News.com)-The spread of the Coronavirus in St. Kitts & Nevis appears to be on the decline as the number of active cases begin to plummet and only single digit new cases being reported in recent weeks.
After rising to as hig as 505 cases in approximately two months, starting on 19th May, 2021, some 438 have since recovered.
As of Sunday, 18th July only 64 active cases were on the books, with no new cases reported that day, and only 2 the previous day on Saturday.
The Ministry of Health describes the situation as a “flattening of the curve.”
They say that they have also succeded in preventing the health system from being overwhelmed with patients.
As of Monday, 19th July, only one patient remained in hospital with 31 others who were warded at the Joseph N France Hospital being discharged.
St. Kitts & Nevis COVID-19 Situation Report No. 478 as of Saturday, July 17, 2021, states that the total number of confirmed cases now stands at 550 with 64 active cases, and 483 recovered cases. 532 of those cases were recorded in St. Kitts while 18 were registered in Nevis. To date, there have been 23, 221 negative results.
