She defended her crown, aggressively, gaining a total of 435 points, defeating her nearest rival, Kibbie (in the 1st Runner-up spot) by 32 points.

Second Runner-up in the competition, which featured a total of nine (9) contestants, was ‘Singing Angie’ with a total of 401 points.

Singing Jennifer came in as 3rd Runner-up with 368 points. She also received a trophy for the longest service in the Female Calypso arena; while ‘Pearline’ was awarded a trophy for the Most Improved Calypsonian.

The evening’s programme also featured the Best of the Rest Competition with some five (5) calypsonians vying for the top spot.

The ‘Mighty Hot Rod’ edged out his rivals and was crowned the 2009/2010 king with his hit song ‘Beep –Beep’.

The ever popular ‘Mighty Provoker’ emerged as 1st Runner-up, followed by ‘La-La’ (2nd Runner-up).

The event was well attended by scores of residents and visitors as they cheered for their favourites.

Musical accompaniment was provided by the Legends Band.
