Following on the huge success of the 2008 Miss National Carnival, Sudeakka Francis, who won the Miss Caribbean World Title in Tortola on Saturday, the Federation also secured a top spot in the Miss Caribbean Talented Pageant that was hosted in Anguilla, on Saturday 21st May, 2011.
St. Kitts & Nevis was represented by the reigning Miss Talented Teen, Siobhan Phipps of the Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Basseterre.
Siobhan successfully captured both the Best Interview and Best Costume/Cultural segments and was named Second Runner Up.
The crown was won by the delegate from the British Virgin Islands, Miss Sylvanna Charles. She also won Best Promotional Speech and Miss Congeniality. This was the first time that the BVI was successful in winning the pageant.
First Runner up was St. Croix’s Shadina Santo, who also won the titles for Ms. Photogenic and Best Talent.
The Best Evening Wear segment went to Danika Haynes of Barbados.
Other contestants were Jordiana Dwarpaul of Anguilla and Ginara Lammar of St. Maarten.
This was the first time in years that the competition was hosted, said organizers.
Ms. Phipps and the other contestants appeared in Promotional Speech, Talent, Evening Wear and Onstage Interview.
During the St. Kitts & Nevis Carnival Talented Teen Pageant last December, Ms. Lloyd took awards for Best Ambassadorial Speech and Best Interview.
Phipps was crowned Miss National Carnival Talented Teen of St. Kitts & Nevis, on December 27th 2010.
