SKNAAA Hosts successful CARIFTA Trials

With the 2014 edition of the CARIFTA Games less than two months away, the governing body for athletics hosted its annual CARIFTA Trials, with events such as Long Jump, High Jump, 200m,100, 400m, 1500m, Shot Put, Discus, Javelin, 800m, 1200m and 110m Hurdles.

Some of the highlights of Saturday’s events included:

Boys 100m U20: Alkronus Bridgewater, 11.08

Boys 200m U20: Warren Hazel, 21.83

Boys 400m U20: Warren Hazel, 48.18

Boys 110m U20: Rasheed Moore, 15.63

Boys 400m Hurdles U20: Oneil Thomas, 55.00

Boys Shot Put U20: Colin Archibald, 14.48m

Girls 800m: Reanda Richards, 2:19:89

Girls Long Jump: Kristal Liburd, 6.07m

Girls 100 U20: Noha Herbert, 12:58

Girls 200m U20: Noha Herbert, 25.67

Girls 400m U20: Renika Daniel, 57:39

Girls 100m U18: Kristal Liburd, 12.67

Girls 200m U18: Shanice Elliott, 25.00

Girls 400m U18: Hana Mills, 57.89

Girls Shot Put U18: Ashika Williams, 13.38m

Discus U18: Ashika Williams, 26.65m

Boys 800m: Kajon Parris, 1:58.31

Boys Long Jump: Nathaniel Huggins, 6.90m

Boys Javelin U20: Nathaniel Huggins, 49.8m

The next CARIFTA Games will be staged in Martinique, from 19th -21st April. It is not known however when the final St. Kitts and Nevis team will be selected.
