The Media Committee, said the release, is responsible for dealing with the working conditions of the media at FIFA events and also to maintain a relationship with the international media.
In a letter from FIFA dated 30th December 2011, which stated “Following the announcement by FIFA President at the 61st FIFA Congress in Zurich on 31st May and 1st June 2011, the composition of the Standing Committees has been revised and completely restructured.”
“In this connection, we are very pleased to inform you that you have been appointed as a member of our Media Committee. Please accept our sincere congratulations on this nomination.”
President Johnson said, “I believe this appointment is in recognition of the work that has been done over the last two years by the SKNFA, and the fact that I have been appointed to a FIFA committee is in recognition of the hard work that we have been doing.
He added, “I would want to express our gratitude to FIFA and look forward to working diligently towards achieving the objectives of the committee.”
President Johnson’s appointment is part of a broader initiative to safeguard that CFU is proportionately represented within FIFA. To date, nineteen countries within CFU are represented on the various FIFA Standing Committees. These appointments ensure that the views and opinions of the Caribbean Region will be expressed and taken into consideration at the highest levels of FIFA.
