The Sugar Mas Cup is collaboration with Carnival Committee and the St Kitts Nevis Football Association. “This initiative was put in place in order to make every game count and also to add a unique activity to carnival,” the release stated.
The release went on the say that there are some of the senior teams in the premiere struggling to stay in the top four as the end of the first round of reaches completion. “This year’s first round competition is important because at the end of the round we will see the top four teams vying for the first ever Sugar Mas Cup,” according to a statement issued by the association.
Meanwhile, the St Kitts Nevis Football Association Premier League is now in its fifth week and it has shaped up to be an unpredictable first round.
The current standings with two weeks of play remaining in the first round leaves many fans wondering what the next round will hold. The point standing shows St Pauls leading with 15 points followed by Newtown and St Thomas/Trinity Strikers who are new to the fraternity tied at second with 13 points and Coury Gatorade Conaree rounding out the top four with 8 points. These ranking can all changed in the coming weeks before the Carnival Cup as teams still have a few games left to be played.
The Premier Division consists of nine teams: Newtown United-Champion, St Peters, S L Horsford St Pauls, UDC Garden Hotspurs, Rams Village Superstars, Coury Gatorade Conaree, KFC Trinity/Challengers United, MANTAB, and newly appointed St Thomas Trinity Strikers.
