In an exclusive interview with Miyve.com, General Secretary of the SKNFA Stanley Jacobs explained that the purpose of the club management course is to impart knowledge to the member organizations about the best practices in club management, demonstration of clubs and club structure.
He added that it is very important because it is recognized that within St. Kitts and Nevis some of the clubs have very strong management structures, while others are very weak and there is a great disparity between them in terms of development.
“If we want to grow the sport across the whole spectrum of St Kitts and Nevis, then it has to begin with a management structure and so this course is designed to enhance the management structure within the member clubs. We would be looking at things like administration, structure, constitution of the clubs, marketing of the clubs, communication and the whole spectrum of management disciplines,” Jacobs stated.
Jacobs said that all the clubs under the auspices of the St. Kitts Nevis football Association were invited to be a part of this very important initiative, which he cited will go a long way in terms of enhancing the structure of our member clubs.
He added that the course is timely because they are on the dawn of a new season and saw it fitting because they have not had such an exercise in a very long time and it will provide the clubs with a platform so that they can perform to the best of their ability going into the new season.
Following the course Jacobs hopes the clubs return to their communities and put into practice what they will learn. He also hopes that they would establish a constitution, management structure, marketing plan, communication plan and develop a plan that will make them financially sustainable.
Jacobs ended by encouraging the clubs to send representatives for the course and thanked all who are supporting the initiatives of the SKNFA.
