The Grass Roots Table Tennis camp will be from 9:30am to 12:30pm, Monday 8th August 2011 to Saturday 13th August 2011 and caters to junior players, ages 7 to 15 years old.
During the week of fun filled activities, the children will be supervised by certified coaches and there will be 18 hours of tennis for 6 days.
International table tennis Coach George Silberschmidt from Switzerland will be conducting the camp at the Anglican Church Hall Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis.
Some of the fundamentals to be covered include:
- Introduction to Table Tennis
- Grip, Stance, Forehand Drive
- Table tennis equipment
- Backhand drive
- Footwork, Beginning serves
- Pushing
- Advanced serves
- FH loop vs. Backspin
- Blocking
- BH attack (looping & hitting vs. backspin)
- Smashing; Return of Serve

The cost of the camp is $50 per person for the week and includes refreshments, certificate of attendance and 18 hours of table tennis fundamentals.
